Allergen-PTs (qualitative / quantitative with z-scores and recovery rates) - Accredited Programs - Principle
of allergen PTs (ptAL01-10 + 12-13): Two Samples (25g each) with
Allergens
in
a Food
Matrix (Samples A + B),
as pastry, chocolate dessert/ice cream or boiled sausage are
provided for qualitative
and
quantitative
determination.
One of these samples contains the spiked
or incurred allergen(s).
The third "Spiking
Level Sample" (Simple Matrix Sample SP)
(15g)
contains
the same allergens in potato powder as a simple matrix without
further processing with similar amounts (at the „spiking
level“). The evaluation
of
results will be qualitative
and
quantitative.

Allergen-Screening (qualitative) NEW test of Action Levels included
ptALS1-3:
4 Samples (20g each) with Allergens in a simple Food Matrix
(rice flour) are provided. All parameters are contained in 2
of 4 samples providing 2/3 and 1/6 of the new Action Levels
(VITAL 4.0, 2024), respectively. The “action level”
in mg/kg is calculated from the allergen protein reference dose
per 100 g food portion. The positive detection of the 2/3 action
level ensures that the action level can be detected safely even
when the measurement uncertainty of the applied method is about
50%. While the 1/6 action level can proof the method performance
at lower levels close to the LOQ. |

Allergen Swab Test (qualitative) - Wipe Test for Surfaces
ptASW1-3:
There are 2 samples of
a Test Surface with Allergens offered for the
detection of each allergen by means of a wipe test (swab test).
The allergens to be tested were attached to one test surface,
while the other test surface is "negative". The
evaluation is exclusively qualitative
(positive/negative) with indication of the obtained agreement with
the consensus values of the participants and the spiking of the
surfaces. As an analytical test method, the
Lateral-Flow-Test is particularly suitable.
ELISA, PCR and LC/MS can also be used. Multiple sets
of results can be submitted for different methods. |

Vegan Compliance Check – 2 Samples qualitative (with known contents): Animal ingredients in Vegan Burger Powder negative sample (< 0.1%) and positive sample with at least two animal components (> 0.1%) (e.g. Vertebrates DNA, Egg Protein / Chicken DNA, Fish Protein / DNA, Meat or Gelatine Protein / DNA, Milk Protein / DNA from Cow, Goat or Sheep) (2 different samples of 50g each) All available results (from DNA-based as well as protein-based methods) should be considered to assess whether the final decision for the samples is “vegan compliant” or not (animal ingredients < 0,1% or > 0,1%). Additionally, a qualitative evaluation is done for all available parameters separately for the following groups of methods: protein-based methods (e.g. ELISA, IEF, MALDI-TOF) and DNA-based methods (e.g. PCR-techniques, NGS, Microarrays). |
